Courtaulds

During my time at Courtaulds I worked in the Industrial Engineering department of a large textiles plant. The work involved the production of several Management Information Systems to measure the productivity and quality performance of various departments. The most significant project that I worked on was to establish and track the cost of rejects throughout the plant. This was achieved by the setting up a database, capable of tracing rejects to individual weavers, shifts, machines, fabrics and yarns and providing a summary of the data in a series of weekly / monthly management reports. All systems were fully developed an implemented on an Apple IIe microcomputer.
